Recently I had a wonderful chance to work with one of my childhood friends and take her Bridals on her special day. The process to getting the right place for the pictures took some thinking and exploring, but the results came about astonishing!
At first, we had planned to take the bridals out at the Canals in Las Colinas, Texas. A beautifully structured area that has lovely canals going through the buildings. We were pretty set on going with this location, but as I called to get the permit to do the shoot out on the canal, we received news that it was not available!
Back in May of this year, North Texas received downpour after downpour of rain for weeks without an end to it. This caused major flooding and water damage in different areas. With the downpour that was brought during that month, the Canals had flooded and began to see sewage and sludge. So sad! And here it was August, 3 months later, and the poor place was still suffering!
Since we had our hearts on the Canals, it was starting to become a little tricky trying to find a place just as beautiful and lovely as that. I did some research and found that in Highland Park (located in Dallas, Texas) there are several little parks sprinkled in their neighborhood full of luxurious mansions. One I found pictures of was Flippen Park. Funny name, but seriously pretty location.
Flippen Park is a tiny park in the middle of a street filled with mansions that featured a very detailed Gazebo, benches, light post, fountain, & a reflecting pool. Sadly, some of the part was under construction, but the parts we needed for our Bridals were in perfect shape.
On to the pictures!
