Newborn sessions can go in all sorts of directions, but that goes for any shoot with little ones! Every parent I work with that have kids or babies always get bashful & embarrassed when their children start to get worked up during our shoot. I always expect this, but especially with newborns.
When it comes to newborns, you have to be ready for crying, peeing, random outbursts, pooping, spit up, and everything in between. I have been taking more newborn photos as of lately and took some of my newest favorite newborn photos to date! Of course though, none of these photos came about without some accidents and disruptions.
We only had a total of 2 accidents with this little guy, but with cleanup supplies right with me, we got them cleaned up quickly and without any issue so we could get right back to shooting. I had my white noise app playing under/near each prop setup to help sooth the newborn, but at one point they got a little fussy from being hungry, so we took a 15 minute break.
Having a 2 hour window for a newborn shoot is always the right amount of time due to some newborns needing a little break to be fed and get sleepy. This window of time is always great as well for posing them just right and taking many different shots from multiple angles.
Through all of the trial and error of it all, here are the results! These are just some of my personal favorites!
